A man's unusual past resurfaces, requiring him to save a new friend, an old friend, and charging him with the task of delivering a proposal that will decide Earth's fate against a newly formed planetary alliance.

It picks up after Grey's trial with a series of light scenes having to do more with character interactions than plot.
